Excavation Training

Excavation Training

In this current competence led climate we found that existing excavation courses did not truly communicate the knowledge required to ensure the safety of the work force. We designed our excavating safely course by incorporating our practical experience and our accumulated knowledge of excavation work from the last 40 years.

Course Details

Our course ensures that candidates understand the mechanics of shoring components, recognise the site requirements and are able apply this knowledge to varying ground conditions. We found that the understanding and recognition of differing ground types and how they act during the excavation process is fundamental to truly maintaining a safe excavation. The course is taught using traditional processes with timber walers and steel trench sheets or timber boards. The learners are taught how to correctly size and space the timbers using the tables contained within CIRIA 97 and then they excavate and construct the shoring in our safe purpose built training environments. The course is accredited by EUSR and remains valid for a period of 3 years.
